In keeping with the 1930s architecture, Parisian stone walls, marble and the highly ornamental black rail are now highlighted by the deep red of the room doors and the linen drapes at the windows. The ultimate detail comes with the unusual floor lighting accentuating the plate glass thresholds that are engraved with the room numbers.

A lover of classical music and singing, Manager Marianne Moreau organises Tuesday evening concerts around a magnificent grand piano in the hall.

There, in a relaxing musical atmosphere, guests can have breakfast, keep appointments, read the press, drink a cup of tea or a glass of champagne and enjoy evenings in the piano bar. Poet Theodore de Banville (a friend of Rimbaud and Verlaine) would have appreciated the hotel’s cosiness and the serenity of its spacious, luminous and reassuringly tranquil rooms.
