London Transport Information |
|
London Buses
One of the most recognised
symbols of London are the old red double deck Routemaster
buses (the big red buses), but nowadays is not easy to see them. Today, the necessity of redeveloping the bus fleet has as a consequence the production of new vehicles that offer wheelchair accesses and more comfortable seats, but they don't have the traditional red colour. If you can find a seat, the bus trip it's a comfortable and nice way to see London.

London Taxis
London's distinctive taxis, black cabs, are as much a feature of
city life as its red double-decker buses. Like the buses, black
cabs are also being modernised and many are now painted other
colours with advertising. |

stations. Rail services in the UK are run by a set of private

London Famous Stores and Shopping
Along with Paris and New York, London offers probably the best
shopping experience of any city in the world. Indeed, visitors
to the capital are often overwhelmed by the sheer range of goods
available. However, whilst shoppers are spoilt for choice,
there's also a feeling (justified to a point) that London stores
charge over the odds in comparison to their overseas
counterparts. What's more, in recent years debate has raged
between retailers, consumer groups and the Government over
claims about the country being "rip off Britain".
