Dorset
Square Hotel Description:
In 1787, Thomas Lord chose Dorset Square to lay
down a cricket ground which, in 1814, moved a mile north to what is now
known as Lords Cricket Ground. Dorset Square Hotel is one of the regency
buildings surrounding the tree-filled gardens that would have had a
grandstand view of the game in those days. Everything about the hotel is
individual. The rooms are decorated in the grand English country house
style with antiques and original art. Bathrooms are a modern yet
traditional mix of marble and mahogany. The first floor bedrooms have
balconies and beautiful views overlooking the square. The Potting Shed
restaurant and bar offers excellent food and wine. Location: Regentís
Park is only a short walk away and Bond Street, the West End theatres
and the Cityís business centre are within easy reach by taxi, bus or
underground. Heathrow airport can be reached in 15 minutes by express
train, from Paddington station, which is just a few minutes away by
taxi.
Restaurant:
The potting shed looks just
how you would imagine, mountains of terracotta pots and seed boxes
across one wall, seagrass matting on the floor, walls painted to
resemble fence panelling and tables adorned with tiny colourful pots.
The potting shed, serves modern English cuisine with a selection of
Southern Europe. The potting shed is open Monday to Friday, for lunch
and dinner. Breakfast is served everyday.
Bedrooms:
There are 38 rooms at the
Dorset Square, each
