Basil Street Hotel Description:

This traditional Edwardian-style hotel was built in 1910 reflecting the charm of an English country house. The Basil Street Hotel serves you in the style of England's most gracious age. A treasure trove of fine paintings, tapestries, antiques and objects d'art, have been discreetly adapted to provide contemporary comforts in the heart of fashionable Knightsbridge. As in every great English country house, The Basil's 93 bedrooms are individually styled. The English country house tradition of Afternoon Tea is observed every day in the lounge where you can also unwind with a pre-dinner drink. In the evenings, piano playing adds to the pleasure of eating in "one of the loveliest hotel dining rooms in London". The Basil also offers banquet and conference facilities as well as The Parrot Club lounge which offers lady guests a soothing retreat.

The Restaurant: 
The hotel restaurant is called The Dining Room and is open for breakfast, lunch and dinner every day. The Edwardian style and traditional service is further enhanced by a pianist from the Royal College of Music who plays every evening. The menu has dishes that will appeal to all tastes including traditional Roast Beef and Yorkshire Pudding.
They also have a delightful lounge that is open throughout the day, serving snacks and drinks. Full afternoon tea consisting of sandwiches, scones and pastries is served between 3.30pm - 5.30pm.

Groups & Meetings: 
For business guests the hotel has a business centre with internet access, e-mail, fax and printing facilities. All bedroom telephones have dataport facility so that laptop computers can  be connected directly to the telephone system. There are three conference rooms that can be booked for meetings. These rooms are also available for private lunches, dinners and cocktail parties.
The Parrot Club is a private ladies club and is open during the week from 9.30am - 5.00pm. In the evenings and at weekends it can be used for private functions or weddings and can seat up to 120 for a dinner dance.
