Hamilton House hotel
is an elegant and peaceful 18th Century building, which overlooks
Blackheath common and is only yards from Greenwich Park. Built in 1734 the house
still has the original walled garden and in the past it has been the residence
of two Lord Mayors of London. Situated on Point Hill, it is above the bustle of
London giving you the opportunity to relax in an inviting and friendly
atmosphere. The location offers easy access to Central London for it is
alongside the A2, with some parking facilities, and parking vouchers available.
It is also only a 10 minute walk from Greenwich DLR & Mainline Station.
Restaurants:
Enderby’s
restaurant serves a modern European Cuisine and is at the heart of life at
Hamilton House Hotel. Using only the freshest ingredients the Head Chef has
created a well-balanced menu combining fresh herbs and spices to produce the
most tempting of dishes.
The restaurant overlooks a pretty south-facing secret garden making it a great
place for summer drinks and dining. It’s relaxed atmosphere and elegant interior
makes a great backdrop for parties, formal dinners or private dining.
Bedrooms:
Many of our
rooms have wonderful views over the trees to the River Thames, to Canary Wharf
and The City. The other rooms have views of the garden or the Heath. Many
of the features of the house have been restored to their original
elegance, with panelled walls and tessellated floors. The hotel has nine large
rooms, all with en suite bathrooms, Tea & Coffee making facilities, sky
television. Four rooms have four-poster beds. There is a spacious dining room,
conference room, reception room and bar available to hire for functions,
weddings, and conferences.
Groups and Meetings:
The Hamilton House Hotel are known for
their wedding services, Christening and Private Dining Services. The Hotel has
received a number of letters, saying how the guests ahve enjoyed the wedding,
some going as far as to say it was the best wedding they have attended. The
Hamilton House Hotel is a very special venue for small residential conferences,
or day events. In essence the hotel is a "grand house" rather than an
institution and the delegates have appreciated the difference, referring to the
hotel as "an oasis", or even "that little gem." The facilities include a large
conference room seating up to thirty-five people. A small conference room
seating up to eighteen people and an intimate conference room seating up to
eight people.
Local Attractions:
Greenwich is one of the most popular tourist
attractions in England. It has a wealth of historical monuments, sensational
beauty spots and now it is the home of the controversial Millennium Dome.
One of the best ways to explore Greenwich itself is on foot and there are guided
walks available to enhance your experience and ensure you do not miss anything.

Century villa, once the home to Queen Henrietta Maria, with an exhibition called
The Story of Time. Or situated on the fabulous Heath is the The Ranger's House
Tel; 020 8853 0035. This handsome red villa dates back to 1699 and houses the
Suffolk collection of Jacobean portraits.

Tube Station:
Docklands Light Railway at Greenwich station connects to CANARY WHARF (Jubilee
Line), BANK (Northern and Central Line), CANNING TOWN (Jubilee line) as well
as NORTH GREENWICH for the Dome.

Train Station: Greenwich Mainline Railway
Station is a 12 minute walk from the hotel. Trains run regularly to and from
LONDON BRIDGE, CANON STREET and WATERLOO EAST.

Motorway Junction:
The A2 goes all the way to the hotel
but the road names change. From the Old Kent Road to New Cross Road to
Blackheath Road and finally up Blackheath Hill Road onto Blackheath Common. As
you begin to cross Blackheath Common you can look to your left and see the
hotel. Take the first left into Hyde Vale. The turning has illuminated
bollards. Then take an immediate left into West Grove.
